All-terrain tyres for the Nissan Navara D23: options compared
A Navara D23 all-terrain buying guide for daily use and touring, separating ordinary models from Warrior conversions and tyre choice from size upgrades.
Technical review by Nordak on 23 September 2026.

The best all-terrain for your Navara D23 starts with whether it is an ordinary model or a Warrior conversion. We would keep a daily-driven standard ute's approved size as the starting point, then compare BFGoodrich KO3, Falken Wildpeak A/T4W, Toyo Open Country A/T III and Maxxis RAZR AT811 in a suitable specification.
These are shortlist candidates, not interchangeable replacements. The exact size, construction, wheel approval and ratings decide which can actually be supplied for your Navara.
This guide covers Australian NP300/D23 dual cabs. It excludes D22, D40 and the all-new Navara introduced for 2026.
Standard Navara or Warrior?
The MY25 D23 sheet lists 255/65R17 and 255/60R18 across ordinary grades. Nissan's PRO-4X Warrior announcement describes 275/70R17 within the Premcar package.
Use your placard and any conversion documents. If you have a Warrior, ask which replacement specifications preserve its approved configuration. If you have a standard ST or ST-X, do not copy the Warrior size as though nothing else changed.
Four alternatives to quote
| Candidate | The buying question it helps answer |
|---|---|
| BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO3 | Is there a suitable local SKU for your exact Navara and wheels? |
| Falken Wildpeak A/T4W | Which available construction meets the load without exceeding what the job needs? |
| Toyo Open Country A/T III | Does the proposed LT option have written rim approval for your wheel? |
| Maxxis RAZR AT811 | How does a fully specified, fitted alternative compare on total cost? |
We would begin with two quotes that retain your existing approved diameter, rather than ask for four different 'upgrade packages'. If a candidate is unavailable in the necessary specification, remove it. Do not enlarge the tyre just to keep a preferred brand in contention.
A road-heavy Navara
For commuting, work and occasional unsealed roads, our preference is to prioritise wet-road behaviour, suitable construction and a straightforward replacement.
Ask for evidence concerning the proposed tyre, not broad claims about the brand. A sidewall pattern does not establish braking performance. An overseas result for a different size is supporting context rather than a prediction for your ute.
Compare noise and comfort cautiously too. We have not tested these four on the same Navara, so there is no honest basis for declaring a quietest or longest-lasting winner here.
A touring or towing Navara
Give the supplier your usual equipment and load. If the tray or tub carries permanent gear, include it when establishing the tyre and pressure recommendation.
If an LT tyre is proposed, ask why that exact construction suits the job. If a non-LT option is proposed, ask the same question. The category label alone is not enough.
Keep the spare in the purchase. A quote for four tyres can hide a fifth tyre, a wheel change or a carrier problem that matters once the vehicle is loaded.
Should you go to 33s?
Read our Navara D23 33-inch guide before choosing diameter. Treat that as a separate project with wheel, clearance and approval implications.
For a road-going modified ute, check the current registration process. A recommendation for an ordinary D23 should name the ordinary D23, not rely on a different generation or a Warrior example.
See the tread style and stance on your Navara once the shortlist is realistic. Choose the look you want, then buy the exact combination the fitter has assessed.
