For an MU-X RJ, ROH Crawler and Assault are useful 17-inch comparisons, with Atlas offering an 18-inch alternative. Start with the MU-X's own fitment table and your exact grade. A D-Max wheel listing alone does not confirm the specification for your wagon.

This guide covers Australian MU-X RJ, within ROH's 2021-onwards standard application. Earlier RF models are excluded. X-Terrain has a separate ROH application and needs its own check.

Which ROH designs should you compare?

ROH Crawler: Our first visual comparison for an MU-X that serves as a family daily and touring wagon. The mesh design adds detail without relying on a contrasting colour. Check the Crawler application.

ROH Assault: Try its fuller wheel face if you are planning a bar, rack and other touring accessories. Compare the finish with those accessories in view. Check the Assault application.

ROH Atlas: Worth comparing if you prefer a larger wheel face. For this RJ application, the 18x9 +25 row is the documented recommended example; the 17x9 +12 row is labelled 'Aggressive'. Check the Atlas application.

These are Nordak styling preferences. The specification still has to suit your MU-X.

Fitment examples for the MU-X

The following rows are marked 'Recommended' in ROH's selected vehicle tables, checked on 9 October 2026. Follow each wheel link for the exact application and finish availability.

WheelSizeStud patternOffsetLoad per wheelROH label
Crawler17x96x139.7+25 mm1500 kgRecommended
Assault17x96x139.7+25 mm1500 kgRecommended
Atlas18x96x139.7+25 mm1500 kgRecommended

The +12 Crawler and Assault rows are also labelled 'Aggressive' for this MU-X. At the same width, moving from +25 to +12 shifts the wheel 13 mm outwards. Select the tyre and check clearance before deciding that wider stance suits the wagon.

ROH's labels are manufacturer guidance for the selected application. They do not approve every tyre, modified suspension setup or registration requirement.

Keep the wheel choice tied to the tyre choice

We would start with 17 inches for a mixed daily and touring MU-X, subject to the supplier confirming the exact grade. An 18-inch Atlas is a valid visual comparison if you want more wheel face. The smaller wheel leaves more sidewall only when the overall tyre diameter stays the same; it does not guarantee a more suitable tyre package.

Before you order

Have your supplier confirm the part number and finish, hub attachment, wheel hardware, brake clearance and tyre-to-rim suitability. Check clearance through steering and suspension movement, plus the load requirements for your vehicle and any certified modifications.

VSB 14 Section LS covers wheel attachment and clearance. Check the rules where your MU-X is registered; the national code does not replace local requirements.

Try the available Crawler, Assault and Atlas finishes on your own MU-X photo. Include the roof rack and bull bar if fitted so the wheel colour works with the wagon you actually drive.
