- What would a canopy look like on my ute?
- Add a side or three-quarter photo and choose a tray or canopy setup. Nordak reworks the rear of your own vehicle so you can judge the roof line, overall length and how it sits against the cab.
- Canopy, cap, topper, shell, tub or load body. Which one do you mean?
- They vary by market and all describe a rear enclosure. Canopy in Australia and South Africa, cap or topper in Canada and the eastern United States, shell on the American west coast, load body in South African trade use. Nordak covers full trays with canopies as well as canopies fitted over an existing tub, so start with whichever term you know.
- Can I do this on a wagon?
- No. A tray canopy needs a pickup body, so a ute, bakkie, pickup or truck is fine and a wagon is not. Fitting one to a wagon is not a real upgrade, so it is not something Nordak will pretend to show you.
- Can I see a MITS Alloy canopy on my ute?
- Yes. On a dual cab and an extra cab that is 1000, 1500 and 1700 mm, and on a single cab everything up to the full-length 2350 mm. Pick your cab and the length you are weighing up, and the build shows how much open tray each one leaves behind it. A few sizes MITS sells are held back until the right reference photograph exists, including the 1320 mm on every cab, because a build created from a picture of the wrong canopy is worse than no build.
- Which MITS Alloy canopy length should I get?
- It depends how much open tray you want to keep. On a dual cab the tray is 1765 mm, so a 1000 mm canopy leaves 765 mm of deck behind it, a 1320 leaves 445 mm, a 1500 leaves 265 mm and a 1700 leaves 65 mm and reads as full length. The gap between two sizes is obvious on the vehicle and hard to picture from a table, which is what the visualizer is for.
- Do you have Norweld trays as well?
- Yes. The Norweld Deluxe, Deluxe Plus, Elite and ROPS trays are all here for single, extra and dual cab. A Norweld tray changes the whole rear silhouette rather than just covering it, so it is worth seeing on your own bakkie or ute rather than on the demo truck in a brochure.
- Is this the same as a canopy on a factory tub?
- Both are covered. A full tray and canopy replaces the factory tub entirely and changes the length, height and rear overhang. A canopy over an existing tub keeps the tub and adds an enclosure on top. They look very different from the side, so choose the one you are actually pricing.
